Ellen + Clay | Palm Springs | Wedding Photography

Introducing Ellen and Clay! This couple is amazing and their wedding was an absolutely blast. It took place in sunny Palm Springs, California at the La Quinta Resort on December 29, 2017. The resort still had their Christmas decorations up which made for some beautiful scenery. My favorite part was HUGE tree that they ship in and decorate with a bajillion lights (just like the Rockefeller tree). You will see what I’m talking about as you scroll through the blog post below πŸ™‚
The day was very laid back and fun, which was a reflection of who Ellen and Clay are πŸ™‚ They decided to not see each other prior to the ceremony, so I started the day out with the groom and groomsmen while they were getting ready…Clay (the groom) is on the far right πŸ™‚Β This string of photos of the goofy groomsmen below cracks me up! They were so much fun!
How can you not have a Charlie’s Angels pose??Clay and his beautiful family. Still acting goofy, trying to keep his mom from crying happy tears πŸ™‚The backdrop of this place was unbelievable! Palm trees AND mountains…yes, please!Time for me to check in on the bride and bridesmaids as they are getting ready!Isn’t she GORGEOUS?! Side note: the bride is my cousin, Ellen πŸ˜‰This is my aunt Carol (dad’s sister) and mother-of-the-bride πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
How fun are Ellen’s shoes?! AND comfortable? Genius. She had a pair of heels that matched these sneakers on at her rehearsal dinner the previous night. I love this idea! This beautiful bride is ready to marry the man of her dreams! <3There were unlimited spots at this resort that were just perfectly beautiful backdrops. I was in heaven!Β Isn’t she so purdy?! πŸ˜€The resort was rather large and spread out…so grateful for this nice man who drove us around to all of the spots I wanted to take photos, LOLThe Karp family! Don’t they clean up nice? πŸ˜‰Waiting for the ceremony to start in hiding πŸ˜‰Guests starting to arrive and mingling.Ellen is ready to go! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β LOVED the backdrop! Then I stole the bride and groom for a little bit to take some photos of just the two of them πŸ™‚
First peek of that tree! And all of the other lights around the resort that made for awesome backdrops.Β Seriously, are they not the cutest?! <3Β We drove down to the entrance of the resort which was palm tree lined and you can see the tree at the end of the drive.Β Off to the reception!Bride and groom’s first dance <3Clay surprised Ellen by writing a song that told their love story and sang it to her. It was beautiful and heartfelt and amazing!Β Hands down…the BEST reception photo of the evening. This is the father-of-the-bride and I freaking love it!!!Yep…this actually happened. A groomsmen split his pants LOLΒ At the end of the night, I snuck the bride and groom away from the party for a few minutes to take some photos of just the two of them under this tree. πŸ™‚Β

THANK YOU SO MUCH Ellen and Clay for asking me to be a part of your special day! I had an absolutely blast and it was definitely nice to get away from the Indiana winter for a few days in sunny Palm Springs πŸ™‚ You guys are a beautiful couple and I love you!!
With love,
Mallory
